Committees heading

Are you interested in influencing the direction and future of the Recycling Council of Alberta? Then we urge you to join one of the RCA’s committees.

As a volunteer organization, much of our success is dependent on the active participation of Board and Committee members. While the Board sets the overall policy for the organization, the Committees drive many of the RCA’s activities, and allow members to play a more active role in the organization.

The RCA’s working committees normally meet on the third Tuesday of every other month in Red Deer (June and December meetings may vary from the regular schedule and location). Lunch is always provided. All RCA members are welcome to participate in the committees, thereby help shape the organization and also network with other members.

Committee participation is also a great way to get a better idea of what the RCA is all about, and many active committee members decide after working on a committee to take the next step and run for a director position on the RCA board.

Members that would like to join a committee can email us to be placed on the agenda distribution list for one or more committees. Details on agendas, start times and location information are emailed to participants about a week prior to each meeting day. Please note that Leadership & Advocacy and Small & Rural Communities meet concurrently (at the same time) and Communications and ICI also meet concurrently. Committee participation is completely voluntary, and members can switch their committee choice at any time. The Small & Rural Communities Committee offers participation via teleconference call for those members located in remote areas that can't travel to the meetings.
