The Recycling Council of Alberta's 2013 Waste Reduction Conference "The Greatest Recycling Show on Earth" will be held October 2-4, 2013 at The Fairmont Palliser in Calgary, Alberta. Professional Development Credits / Continuing Education Units
This conference is on Alberta Environment and SRD's list of approved courses for continuing education for the Alberta Landfill and Composting Facility Operator Certification Program. Conference delegates who are members of other professional or regulatory bodies or associations that have a Continued Professional Development program may want to check with the association to find out whether conference attendance can be counted towards their certification renewal.

The Fairmont Palliser is offering special delegate rates starting at $229 per night (plus applicable taxes & gratuities). The company is ‘Doing It Right’ by minimizing construction waste, transportation pollution and real estate sprawl. DIRTT is a custom prefab construction company. The factory tour will include a demonstration of real-time, interactive 3D software used by DIRTT clients to design their space and actually manufacture the elements to build it. DIRTT’s mission is to help clients reduce waste and energy and reuse their interior spaces for a long lifecycle. They say, “Why make waste at all?” Yet, on the factory tour you will see how DIRTT diverts 98% of its waste (which is minimal to begin with) from landfill.
