Too Good To Waste logo

Recycling Councils across Canada have celebrated the 5th Annual Waste Reduction Week, October 17-23, 2005, and many Alberta municipalities, schools and businesses joined us in spreading the Waste Reduction message. The Recycling Council of Alberta worked with a multi-stakeholder committee to coordinate overall Waste Reduction Week activities, such as launch events and a province–wide school contest.
As in previous years, promotional materials, including a poster and resource kits, have also be available to assist in promoting this special week. The national WRW website, www.wrwcanada.com, houses promotional materials, as well as event ideas and an interactive form where organizations can register their WRW event.
All RCA members were encouraged to plan their own events during WRW and to register them at www.wrwcanada.com. This allowed us to track the level of activity across the province, and to share innovative ideas with other jurisdictions. If you would like to discuss how you can get involved in WRW, or order promotional materials, contact the RCA office (403.843.6563, This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it ).
No event is too big or too small – let’s let Albertans know that this beautiful province is truly “Too Good To Waste”.

9:00 am - 4:00 pm   FREE ADMISSION
Increasing utility bills has residents of Calgary wondering what they can do to protect themselves against rising costs and potential fossil fuel shortages. The 4th Annual EcoLiving Fair on October 15 and 16, 2005 at the SAIT Campus (Heart Building, 1301–16th Avenue N.W., Calgary) provided valuable information on how to make homes more comfortable, use less natural resources, lower monthly bills and live more sustainable.
