Waste Reduction Week Highlights ‘07

All Across Canada

All across Alberta and Canada from October 15-21, 2007 communities, classrooms, businesses and individuals celebrated Waste Reduction Week (WRW) in both organized and independent events.

In Alberta

The Recycling Council of Alberta and partners proudly offered specialized programs to celebrate Waste Reduction Week. Many municipalities, businesses and government organizations put on special events to promote waste reduction awareness all across the province. Visit wrwcanada.com for a list of events.

Triple StaRs Waste Reduction Challenge

35 school classes completed the newly updated Triple StaRs Waste Reduction Challenge in Alberta. We’re proud of their commitment and their results.

Three top prizes of $450 toward an environmental field trip go to:

Winfield School, Winfield
Robina Baker Elementary, Devon

Seven Runner-Up prizes for a choice of vermi (worm) or outdoor composter go to:
